I had the opportunity to talk some stuff with someone very near and dear to me, my own cousin Casey Bailey. We talked about her new bar 70/70 Social Club! Sadly, I have yet to witness it in person due to life. I am planning a visit soon. I am very proud of Casey and her husband Zach (honorable mention) for what they have worked so hard to create. I look forward to visiting and will continue to promote them as much as I can for the foreseeable future.

Mike D VS 70/70 Social Club

Q. What inspired you to open a bar?

A.What inspired us... We wanted to work for ourselves and make our own thing. We went back and forth with a few ideas, this was our favorite. Bourbon and cigars have been a fun hobby for Zach for years, so this seemed the most fun as well!

Q. When did you open?

A.We opened in August of 2024 for ArtFest. We weren't able to sell alcohol on the first day, be we love celebrating art so we offered snacks, non alcoholic drinks, and a place to cool off and hang out during the festival.

Q. What was it like putting the plan into action?

A. Putting the plan into action wasn't easy. We struggled to find the right building in the right location for about 2 years. Then we came across the lovely space we have now and it couldn't be more perfect. We did a lot of things ourselves like, paint, sand, stain, made shelves and hand made our curtains. Weathervane Woodworks built our bar and did an amazing job. Our bathroom and kitchen build out was done by Willow Creek Developers and builders. It was very important to us to use local establishments. You can find some amazing peices for sale by Weathervane located in the hallway next to the humidor and candles by a chick with wicks (another amazing local business).

Q. Where are you located?

A. We are located at 140 S. Main Street, in the beautiful Historic Springboro which is also DORA!

Q. Why did you choose this location?

A. We live in Springboro and really love the history in downtown Historic Springboro. We may, or may not be part of the underground railroad. The Historical Museum is just a couple buildings down, which is confirmed to be part of the underground railroad. The buildings are absolutely beautiful.

Q. Describe the atmosphere of 70/70, what kind of vibe are you going for?

A. At the 70/70 Social Club, we welcome everyone. We have a very chill laid back vibe, although it can get a little loud when we are busy, during the week before 7pm, you could read a book or do some work on your laptop. The decor is a speak easy kind of vibe.

Q. What is your favorite cocktail to make?

A. Zach loves making the toasted bourbon espresso. It's like an espresso martini, but with bourbon, whipped cream, sprinkles and a toasted marshmallow. Casey's favorite drink to make is an Old Fashioned because it is the easiest. Everyone loves to put an aromatic bubble on anything. Bubbles never get old!

Q. What is your best seller?

A. I would say we have a few best sellers. Our classic old fashioned, espresso martinis are a huge hit. We do a secret drink of the week. It gets posted on our social media. People seem to love the secret drinks.

Q. Do you have any events coming up?

A. We have a St Patrick's Day event coming up with free breakfast and 4 special drinks that week while supplies last.

Q Are you currently running any specials?

A. No specials at the moment. Sometimes we run specials on bourbon flights or pairings with bourbon and either a food or cigar.

Q. What other locally owned establishments do you recommend?

A. So many lovely local establishments. Weathervane Woodworks, Heather's Cafe, Suburban Hippie, Essential Yoga and Wellness directly across the street, the amazing historic museum, Warped Wing brewery, so many to mention them all. Get your DORA cups and come check out the shops. Some of the festivals you don't want to miss are ArtFest, Christmas in Springboro, Dinner on Main, and Springboro Juneteenth Jubilee!
