The Monster

Something isn't feeling right.
I sense the creatures of the night.
Every day its all the same.
Countless voices calling my name.
I know there's danger up ahead.
I'll stay covered up in bed.
In my own familiar spot.
Burdened by my train of thought.

The monsters come here in a hurry.
I just lay here as I worry.
Locked in my bed, watching the time.
I'd try to fight but I'm not in my prime.
I'd like to be strong, I'd like to be tough.
But its coming soon and I won't be enough.
As it reaches, its nothing to see.
it's all in my head and the monster is me.
